ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Focus and scope

Revista Ecúmene de Ciencias Sociales (RECS) is a nonprofit, digital, open-access scholarly journal published by the Escuela Normal Superior de Querétaro (ENSQ), Mexico, with academic support from the Grupo de Estudios en Integración y Cooperación en América Latina (GEICRAL) at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), Argentina.

The journal is managed by an editorial team of researchers, faculty members, and specialists affiliated with academic institutions in Mexico and abroad.

RECS supports the production, circulation, and democratization of knowledge in the social sciences and humanities. It promotes interdisciplinary dialogue, theoretical and methodological pluralism, and critical reflection on issues of local, national, and international relevance, including cultural, historical, and communication topics concerning Mexico, Spanish-speaking America, and the Caribbean.

The journal is intended for researchers, faculty members, graduate students, professionals, and other members of the academic community interested in the social sciences.

The word Ecúmene comes from the Greek oikouménē, meaning the inhabited and known world. The journal seeks to provide a forum for academic exchange, the collective development of knowledge, and dialogue among different intellectual traditions and disciplinary perspectives.

The journal publishes original, previously unpublished work in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. It publishes two issues a year, in February and August.

[Editorial note: Consider continuous publication.]

RECS welcomes contributions from all areas of the social sciences, taking a broad, interdisciplinary approach.

Submitted articles must meet standards of scholarly and argumentative rigor before proceeding to external, double-anonymous peer review, which protects the identities of authors and reviewers.

The journal also publishes interviews, book reviews, academic essays, case studies, and short research notes in accordance with its editorial policies.

Revista Ecúmene de Ciencias Sociales reserves the right to accept or reject submissions based on their relevance, scholarly quality, and compliance with its editorial requirements.

The views expressed in published works are solely those of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the positions of the journal, the Escuela Normal Superior de Querétaro, or the participating institutions.

Submissions must be made through Open Journal Systems (OJS). Authors must create an account to track their manuscripts. Authors are also encouraged to notify the journal of their submission at ecumene@ensq.edu.mx and revistaecumenecs@gmail.com.
